Privacy policy.

This policy covers the apps I publish (the "Apps") and this website, cdz.one (the "Site"). The short version: what you create in my Apps stays on your device, and it is never sent to anyone else unless you choose to send it.

At a glance

  • Your data stays on your device. The Apps don't need an account, and I don't run servers that receive the data you create in them.
  • Nothing is shared without your consent. Your data only leaves your device when you turn on a cloud drive service (Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud Drive) or choose to export or share it.
  • Ads and analytics are the exceptions. Some Apps show ads through Google AdMob and some use Google Analytics. The Site uses Google Analytics. These Google services collect limited device and usage information, as described below.
  • I don't sell your personal information.

Apps

Data stored on your device

Everything you create or enter in the Apps, such as documents, settings, preferences, and history, is stored locally on your device. Any processing an App performs, including on-device AI features, happens on your device. I don't operate servers that collect, store, or receive this data, and I can't see it.

Cloud drive services · Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive

Some Apps can sync, back up, import, or export your data using a cloud drive service. This is always optional, and it only happens after you connect the service and give your express consent in the App.

  • Your data moves directly between your device and the cloud drive service you chose. It does not pass through, and is not stored on, any server I operate.
  • The sign-in credentials or access tokens for a connected service are stored securely on your device and are only used to perform the actions you requested.
  • The Apps only ask for the access a feature needs, such as access to an App's own folder rather than your whole drive, wherever the service allows it.
  • Data you store with a cloud drive service is governed by that provider's privacy policy: Dropbox, Google, or Apple.
  • You can disconnect a service at any time in the App's settings, or revoke the App's access from your account settings with the provider.

The Apps' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Drive data is used only to provide the features you turned on. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never transferred to anyone else.

Sharing you start yourself

Your data otherwise leaves an App only when you choose to send it, for example by exporting a file, using the system share sheet, copying to the clipboard, or sending an email. Where it goes is entirely up to you, and the recipient's own privacy practices apply after that.

Advertising · Google AdMob

Some free Apps display ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver ads, limit how often you see them, prevent fraud, and measure performance, AdMob may collect:

  • Device identifiers, such as the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS or the Android Advertising ID), where you have allowed it
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device type, operating system, language, and App version
  • Ad interactions, such as views and taps, plus crash and diagnostic data from the ad software

AdMob does not receive the content you create in the Apps. On iOS, an App asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before your advertising identifier can be used for tracking. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized through tracking. In regions where the law requires it, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, an App shows a consent message before personalized ads are served, and you can change your choice later in the App's settings.

You can also limit ad personalization in your device settings or in Google's My Ad Center. To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Usage analytics · Google Analytics

Some Apps use Google Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand, in aggregate, how the Apps are used and where they can be improved. This may include screens viewed, features used, session length, App version, device model, operating system, and crash reports, associated with a random app-instance identifier. Analytics never includes the content you create in the Apps, and I don't use it to identify you personally. Where an App offers an analytics setting, you can turn it off at any time.

Device permissions

An App may ask for access to features such as the camera, photos, Bluetooth, location, notifications, or microphone, but only when a feature you're using needs it. Information gathered through these permissions is processed on your device and isn't transmitted anywhere unless you choose to share it as described above. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Copies you saved to a cloud drive service stay in your account with that provider until you delete them there. Because I don't hold your App data, I can't access, recover, or delete it for you.

Website

Analytics · Google Analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, screen size, language, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. I only see aggregated reports, and I don't use them to identify individual visitors.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The Site does not show ads.

Hosting and third-party resources

The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log your IP address for security and operations. Fonts and icons load from Google Fonts and jsDelivr, so your browser shares its IP address and basic request details with those providers when a page loads.

What the Site doesn't collect

The Site has no accounts, sign-up forms, or comment sections. If you email me, I use your message and address only to reply to you.

Links to other sites

The Site links to other services, such as LinkedIn and GitHub. Once you leave the Site, that service's privacy policy applies.

Your rights & contact

Children's privacy

The Apps and the Site are not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact me so I can help address it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA/CPRA in California may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. I don't sell personal information. Where serving personalized ads through Google AdMob counts as "sharing" under applicable law, you can opt out using the ad controls described above. Information collected by Google AdMob and Google Analytics is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy, and you can manage it through your Google account and device settings. For anything else, contact me and I'll respond within a reasonable time.

Security

The Apps rely on your device's built-in security, such as encrypted storage and the system keychain, to protect your data, and they connect to cloud drive services over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so please keep your device and accounts protected with a passcode and strong authentication.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as the Apps and Site change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If a change significantly affects how your data is handled, I'll make that clear in the affected App or on the Site.
